Fibrlok™ II Universal Optical Fiber Splice 2529 Easy Cleaver Splicing Tool

If it is necessary to connect optical fiber without using a splicing on any optical cable, use Fibrlok II connectors. They are ideal for renovation work or for connecting subscribers in optical access networks.

3M Fibrlok II 2529 universal connectors are designed to work with both single-mode and multimode optical fibers with a standard diameter of 125 microns and a protective coating diameter from 250 to 900 microns. The tool kits 2559, 2559-C are used to mount the connectors.

The connector consists of a centering element made of aluminum alloy, filled with immersion gel and fixed in a molded plastic body, and a plastic cover. The average value of losses at the joint does not exceed 0.1 dB, and the tensile strength of the connection is not less than 0.45 kg. The connectors are highly resistant to environmental influences, guaranteeing reliable operation in the temperature range from -40 ° to + 80 ° C.

The pre-assembled connector is assembled and closed using the Fibrlok 2501 special tool. After the prepared fibers are inserted into the connector, the lid is snapped into place with the Fibrlok 2501 mounting tool. One movement of the lid is sufficient to splicate the fibers in Fibrlok II connectors, resulting in compression of the petals of the centering element, precisely and securely fixing the fibers.
