The CAT. 5 distribution blocks are applied for the connection of voice and data lines suitable for data transmission of up to 100Mbit/s. They are used in local and digital exchanges (DDF and MDF), containers and cabinets for the following applications:-xDSL-collocation blocks-data networks etc. Due to the need for high data transfer rates, certain physical laws must be taken into account. DIN ISO IEC 11801:1995 requires a minimum near-end cross-talk NEXT (Near End Cross (x) Talk) of 40 db at a frequency of 100MHz (CAT. 5).The CAT. 5 distribution blocks comply with the above mentioned requirements.
