Optical adapters (sockets) LC/UPС Duplex are designed to connect or connect connectors installed on dual (duplex) optical patch cords and installation cords. The most popular, due to their low cost, are adapters for connectors with UPC polishing. LC adapters are always feed-through (i.e. connectors are connected to them from both sides) and also serve for precision centering of connector tips. Tips are centered in special bushings, which are usually made of bronze for multimode adapters, and ceramic for single-mode adapters. The LC/UPС Duplex adapter body is made of plastic of various colors: beige for multimode applications, blue for single-mode applications. The LC/UPС Duplex adapter has two bushings for connecting the corresponding types of connectors. The adapter is fastened to the patch panel using a metal stopper and, additionally, screws. LC/UPC Duplex adapters have the smallest overall dimensions and are installed in high-density cross-connect equipment in active equipment.
